Butcher Boy has become more than just a store — it is a social experience

Our original location on Rock Boulevard opened in the spring of 1974 as a small neighborhood meat market. From the very beginning, only the best in quality and service was offered to our new customers.

Over the years, we brought in more and more products until we expanded in 1992. The expansion offered a deli and seafood department with more room for specialty goods. This growth also afforded us a little room for a kitchen to start our blossoming catering business.

Year after year, loyal Sparks customers return to Butcher Boy for their weekly fair. Many are third-generation and even fourth-generation fans who still reminisce about the hot dogs they snacked on as kids.

On May 1 of 2006, we broke ground on the project that was years in the making. Every detail was planned, gone over, revised, and replanned until it looked just right. We strived to create a mecca of great food with a memorable experience. Butcher Boy Prime was opened exactly one year later on May 1, 2007.

Butcher Boy Prime was designed to highlight the social side of our loyal clients. It is common to see neighbors and friends chatting across the low aisles or enjoying a meal in the open dining room.

The second story was added to offer an on-site banquet facility and exhibition kitchen to our guests. You can't help but have a great time at a cooking class or wine tasting with our talented culinary team.

Butcher Boy Prime offers the largest fresh meat case in the area and boasts Reno's FIRST dry aged display stocked with Choice beef, cut to order.

Our wine cellar offers a selection ranging from everyday values to collectible finds. With a staff on hand to help you decide on the perfect accompaniment to your meal, you are sure to find the perfect bottle.
